We both unquestionably have a sweet tooth, that’s partly why we attempt to kill ourselves in the gym lol. But because of that sweet tooth we’ve had so many desserts this year, at least once a week. I must say that we are partial to cheesecakes … it’s the first thing we look for on a dessert menu. So with that caveat, enjoy the list, and we apologise for any cravings the list might cause 🙂
Before we begin the list, we’ll add a gallery of desserts Amen enjoyed on his solo excursions and although he loved them, they couldn’t make the list as only he’s tried them … selfish!
The List
10
Pumpkin Brulee – MNKY HSE

I’ve never really been interested in Brulee, “it’s just cream topped with crisp caramel,” I always said. But this brulee was fantastic … not too sweet and rather light. For more on the dessert and the restaurant read our Mnky Hse Review.
9
You Doughnut
They are freshly made little doughnuts balls tossed in sugar and served warm, doused with sauces and creative toppings … what’s not to love? Amen particularly loves them. Shiima likes them a lot as well, but that’s dependent on the toppings. Her favourites are the marshmallow and the white chocolate. For more on the dessert and more street food vendors read our Street Feast Dinerama & Hawker House Reviews.
8
Snickers – M Threadneedle Street

Incredibly, it tastes like snickers, but a fresh and refined version. If you enjoy the chocolate bar, even a little bit, you’d love this. For more on the dessert and the restaurant read our M Threadneedle Street Review.
7
Chocolate Banana Cake – Sushi Samba

For years we avoided Sushi Samba desserts because they never enticed us … but then we had to try this. Amen loves banana-based desserts (loves the banana crumble from Novikov in 2016), Shiima loves chocolate, and we both love warm desserts. Plus, it’s served in a river of warm syrup. For more on the dessert and the restaurant read our Sushi Samba Review.
6
New York Cheesecake – Oblix

Creamy vanilla rich cheesecake with a good amount of delicious biscuit base. Lovely! For more on the dessert and the restaurant read our Oblix at the Shard Review.
5
Chocolate Fondant – Novikov

A chocolate fondant is right in Shiima’s wheelhouse … a warm chocolate dessert, dang! But not all chocolate fondants are made equal, and this is the king of them all! For more on the dessert and the restaurant read our Novikov Asian Review.
4
Vanilla Cheesecake – Sexy Fish

First, you have to allow at least 20 minutes for the cheesecake to be freshly baked. Now that could be a fib, but it primes you to expect a fantastic cheesecake and, oh my, this cheesecake is glorious. Every spec of the dessert is delicious! For more on the dessert and the restaurant read our Sexy Fish Review.
3
Deep Fried Oreos – Hotbox

This is another Shiima special lol. Oreos coated in delicious batter and deep-fried … now that is intriguing. But then served with a pot of melted chocolate and vanilla ice cream … now that is bloody delicious, even if you don’t like Oreos (like Amen). For more on the dessert and the restaurant read our Hotbox Review.
2
Nutella Cheesecake – Novikov

Cheesecake enriched with Nutella? Come on!
1
Baked New York Cheesecake – Maze Grill

This is simply the best cheesecake we’ve ever had … it’s light, but creamy, vanilla rich, and intensely delicious. For more on the dessert and the restaurant read our Maze Grill Review.
Next and Final list of 2017, will be our Top 10 restaurants! Excited.
